On December 28, 2021 it will become possible to protect a trademark in the United Arab Emirates through the international trademark.
The United Arab Emirates become the 109th member of the Madrid System and the third country in the Gulf Cooperation Council, alongside Bahrein and Oman, in which it is possible to register a trademark through the international trademark system.
The companies which sell their products or supply their services in the United Arab Emirates will be able to protect their own trademark by using that system of registration which allows to designate up to 108 States (109 considering the United Arab Emirates) with a unique application, in a unique language.
